American-born and raised, Tyler Coppin has been helping Australian actors master the Standard American accent since the 1980s, when the first big wave of Aussies began heading to Hollywood. Over the years, he’s coached generations of performers — from emerging talents to internationally recognised actors like Eoin Macken, Heath Ledger, and Ben Mendelsohn, as well as Madeleine Madden, Melissa George, Joel Edgerton, and Magda Szubanski.

Actors appreciate Tyler’s warm, detailed, and down-to-earth approach, which helps them deliver authentic performances with confidence. Having spent his life between Australia and the United States, and with a long, award-winning acting career of his own, he brings a rare depth of understanding to his teaching.

A graduate of NIDA, Tyler offers private coaching (online and in-studio), leads group classes and masterclasses around the country, and works as a dialect coach for film and television productions. He’s based in Melbourne.
